Our journey through Japan took travelers from the energy of Tokyo to the mountain landscapes of Hakone and the timeless streets of Kyoto, offering a perfect introduction to one of the world’s most fascinating destinations.
We explored the contrast between Japan’s fast-paced modern cities and centuries-old traditions, from wandering through the historic streets of Asakusa and visiting the iconic Senso-ji to taking in panoramic views from the Tokyo Skytree.
The group experienced Japan’s world-famous rail system aboard the Tokaido Shinkansen, cruised across the lakes of Hakone beneath views of volcanic landscapes, and rode the ropeway above the steaming valleys of Owakudani.
In Kyoto, we walked beneath thousands of torii gates at Fushimi Inari Taisha, explored the preserved streets of Gion, and visited some of Japan’s most iconic temples including Kiyomizu-dera. Some travelers even chose to raft down the scenic Hozugawa River before spending free time exploring Arashiyama at their own pace.
The trip concluded in Osaka with visits to Osaka Castle and the vibrant streets of Dotonbori, ending a week filled with incredible food, cultural discovery, and memories that continue long after returning home.
